What determines export time

Ludexa renders locally through packaged FFmpeg WebAssembly. Duration, resolution, aspect conversion, webcam composition, zoom, cursor effects, overlays and audio processing all add work.

Choose MP4 for normal video

H.264/AAC MP4 is far more efficient than GIF for long or detailed recordings. Use GIF only for short silent loops.

Use 720p when Full HD is unnecessary

720p reduces pixel processing, memory pressure, output size and render time. Choose 1080p when small interface text must stay sharp.

Understand file size

A 720p screen recording can still grow when it contains rapid motion, camera video or highly detailed changes. Webcam and screen are composited into one final stream, but both must be decoded and processed during rendering.

Recover from a long export

Keep the editor open and watch progress. Cancel safely if necessary. Retry with a shorter project, 720p, Original ratio or fewer expensive elements.
